UlcerGard® Omeprazole Paste for Horses
UlcerGard® Omeprazole for Horses
Helps to Protect Horses from Developing Ulcers
Treats Ulcers and EGUS
"Wherever there is stress, there can be ulcers".
UlcerGard® (omeprazole) Oral Paste is designed to treat and prevent ulcers in horses and to help manage EGUS (Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome). Non-prescription UlcerGard® is the only product that's been approved by the FDA to prevent equine stomach ulcers. This product may also be recommended by your veterinarian when your horse is receiving medications, anti-inflammatories or other medications which may cause gastric distress.
Some horses are more prone to stress than others. Training, Hauling, Showing, Racing, Injuries, Stall Rest, etc. places undo stress on the digestive system. For some horses even a small change to their routine can lead to equine gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS), also referred to as gastric ulcers. Studies have shown that gastric ulcers can form in less than 5 days, and that gastric ulcers are present in over 90% of racehorses and close to 60% of performance horses in a variety of disciplines. These conditions are far more common than once believed.
