Kopertox® by Zoetis is a powerful thrush medication useful for treating thrush, foot rot, and white line disease in horses, cattle, sheep and goats. Helps to form a water-resistant seal on the heels and sole of the foot.
Thrush, otherwise known as pododermatitis, is a common hoof infection of horses, ponies, cattle, sheep and goats. Thrush can result in pain, puss or bleeding when the hoof is picked, and a foul-smelling discharge causing a lot of pain, discomfort, and lameness for afflicted animals. This infection of the hoof is caused by anaerobic bacteria that thrive in environments with no oxygen, such as muddy conditions and dirty stall bedding. Hooved animals subject to standing in these types of environments for long periods of time are at risk for developing thrush.
Kopertox® is a hoof medication for horses and ponies recommended as an aid in treating thrush caused by organisms that are susceptible to the active ingredient copper naphthenate. Kopertox® provides antifungal, antiseptic and astringent properties to help eliminate fungal infection and restore hoof health. Kopertox also provides a water-resistant barrier, so does not require bandaging.
Directions for Use: Remove debris and necrotic material from hooves before using Kopertox®. Apply daily to affected areas of the hooves with squeeze bottle or small paint brush until fully healed. Do not allow runoff of excess product onto hair since contact may cause some hair loss.
